Dr. Kumar is responsible for all development, commercial CMC and supply chain. He led the CMC for a successful approval and commercialization of Nurtec® ODT.
Dr. Kumar has more than 25 years of experience in developing immediate and controlled release pharmaceutical dosage forms using conventional and drug delivery technologies, including drug-device combination products. Prior to joining Biohaven, he served as a Senior Director of CMC at the Proprietary Products Division of Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories/Promius Pharma where he was responsible for all CMC related development, overseeing external R&D and manufacturing partners for exploratory, clinical and commercial products. While at Dr. Reddy’s, he led many successful NDAs including Zembrace® and Tosymra®, both drug-device combination products.
Earlier, Dr. Kumar spent 13+ years at Alkermes, Plc with increasing responsibilities and represented the CMC function in the successful approvals and launch of multiple products. including BYDUREON® (exenatide extended release injection), Aristada® (Phase 3), Risperdal® Consta® and Vivitrol® long acting complex injectable products.
Dr. Kumar obtained is Bachelor and Master’s degree in Pharmacy from India and his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Auburn University, AL.
